I am raising funds for our two daughters, who both have torticollis—a condition that has led to flat spots and uneven head growth. They receive physical therapy once a week, but because of their positioning in the womb and their preference for one side, their heads are growing unevenly. This is something that’s common with twins, and it’s been a challenge for our family to navigate.
The recommended treatment is doc band helmets, which, along with continued physical therapy, will help their heads start to grow symmetrically. This is so important for their future, as their ears are currently off-centered, which could affect things like wearing glasses, bicycle helmets, and more as they grow. Unfortunately, insurance considers this a cosmetic treatment and does not provide much assistance, leaving us with a significant out-of-pocket cost.
We are not people who enjoy asking for help or relying on others, but this is a situation where we truly need support from our friends, family, and community. The journey of being blessed with these little girls has been nothing short of incredible, but it has also been very hard on our entire family. By the grace of God and the love of our family, we know we will be okay, but we would truly love and appreciate any help you can offer.
