My Tito Noel has been battling intense health issues since last year.

It pains me to set up this page—my Tita Hyna passed away of cancer in 2023. My little cousins, Aira and Patrick, are still grieving the death of their mother & I cannot even imagine their stress now as their father is struggling with his health as well. It currently isn’t possible for my mother to travel abroad and give practical help to her brother, and while we have a big family in the Philippines, as most of them are elderly, and in and out of the hospital as well.

Here is the current information we know/ we were given (written by my mother):

“He has severe anemia because of leaky gut or increased intestinal permeability. Two sets of blood transfusions have been done the last 4 months and he is now being given the third time. The transfusion is every 4 hrs which lasts for 6 days at a time.

They are also testing him for COOMBS, A blood test that checks if antibodies are attached to his red blood cells.

He had a colonoscopy over 2 months ago but will need an endoscopy after his third transfusion to find the source of his internal bleeding. The endoscopy and other procedures will cost around $8,000.”

My Tito Noel’s health insurance has limited coverage, and can no longer afford the hospital bills. While my family is chipping in what they can, my goal is to crowdfund publicly to alleviate the financial burden. I am setting up the goal for 10k as I’m not sure how much transferring fees would be to the Philippines, and I’m taking into account for any miscellaneous fees that may come.
