My two-year-old pit bull is full of love and energy—but lately, when he plays, he limps. He tries to run, jump, and keep up like a normal puppy, then slows himself down because of the pain. Watching him push through it breaks my heart.
Our vet believes it is most likely an ACL injury, but we need further testing to confirm. Just getting the diagnostic imaging alone costs $400, and based on the vet’s assessment, surgery is highly likely if the injury is confirmed.
In the meantime, he’s on pain medication to stay comfortable, and the vet visits and meds are already adding up. I want to get him answers as soon as possible so he doesn’t continue living in pain—or risk making the injury worse.
If surgery is needed, the estimated cost will be around $6,000, not including recovery care and TRAINING to help him safely heal and regain confidence afterward.
I’m asking for help to take the first critical steps: diagnosis, pain relief, and preparing for the treatment he will most likely need. Every donation helps me move faster toward giving him relief, clarity, and a real chance at a pain-free life. I’ve looked into group training classes, which is my long-term goal, but right now, the only suitable option is private training to help him learn how to manage his excitement and respond calmly to social situations. These sessions will teach him foundational manners and skills to build his confidence and make it easier for him to eventually join group settings. If you’ve ever loved a dog who just needed a little help to shine, then you understand why this means the world to me.
