Help My Superstar 75 Year Old Dad Find Relief After A Lifetime of Work
If you know me, you know my dad. He is my biggest supporter, my North Star, the person who has given me everything I have and made me everything I am. After working tirelessly for the Maryland Public Health Department for the State of Maryland for over 50 years, he was forced to retire last year without a solid support system or a large enough pension. He is now 75 years old and still working more than 12 hours a day as a Lyft driver just to keep our house and make ends meet. Despite the long hours, challenges, and financial uncertainty, he reminds me every day to have a good outlook, to look for angel numbers on license plates, and to see the beauty in the world and everyone around him. His favorite song is "It's A Wonderful World" for a reason. He’s given me everything I have today and shaped me into the person I am, and my biggest dream is to give back to him everything he deserves.
With his hours and workload only increasing, I worry about him driving late at night in downtown Baltimore and working so hard at his age. I want him to be able to enjoy this period of his life, rest more, and spend quality time with me when I visit. He deserves the chance to slow down and not have to worry about every dollar.
I currently work two jobs to try to make ends meet and attempt to give him every extra penny I earn. Your support will go towards all necessary bills and expenses—to help a man who has served others his entire life finally bask in the joy that he is so used to dishing out.
