Help My Student's Family Buy an Accessible Van

Hi, my name is Charmen and I am a special education teacher who works with some fantastic children. One of my sweet girls, Najila, is a recent refugee. Her supportive family was so overwhelmed when they moved here as we have so many resources that were not available to Najila prior to their arrival here in Sacramento. After years of carrying Najila everywhere they went, they now have a custom wheelchair fitted for Najila's unique body position. She is able to attend school and learn how to better communicate with those around her. However, her family does not have the resources to purchase a converted van to transport her in her wheelchair for family outings and appointments. Brand new, the family's contribution would be $48,000- an amount far out of reach. However, we have had another family reach out looking to sell their converted van for just $18,000! I am hopeful that we can raise the funds to help this wonderful family and one of my favorite students! They have undergone so much in their lives and deserve this chance to travel together safely as a family. (P.S. I set the goal amount higher than 18K to cover any platform fees- any excess will be shared with the family to cover increased insurance costs).
