Our family is reaching out with love, hope, and humility to ask for support for my stepmom as she faces kidney failure once again. She received her first kidney transplant in high school, which gave her many precious years, but now her kidney function has dropped to just 15%, and she urgently needs another transplant. We are incredibly grateful that her best friend, Randi, has selflessly stepped forward to be an indirect donor, helping move my stepmom’s transplant timeline forward faster than we ever hoped. This incredible gift has given our family renewed hope during such a difficult time.
Her surgery is scheduled for May 5 in Vancouver, Canada, which means she, along with my dad and brother, need to travel 12 hours from Prince George and stay away from home during surgery, recovery, and follow-up care. In addition to the surgery itself, the aftercare process includes frequent monitoring, follow-up appointments, lab work, and recovery support that can continue for months — all away from home. This means repeated travel, extended stays, and ongoing expenses, not just for my stepmom, but her loved ones while she focuses on healing and protecting this precious new kidney.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply keep her in your thoughts, our family would be deeply grateful. Every bit of support helps reduce stress during this life-changing journey.
Please note that the location for this fundraiser is American based, thus initial funds may show as USD. However,
the currency will be reverted back to CAD when Angie withdraws. Thank you!
