On December 19, our family experienced a devastating fire that completely destroyed my son and daughter-in-law’s backyard, including two sheds and a greenhouse that had just been purchased and built this past summer. What was meant to be a space for growth, creativity, and family time was lost in a matter of moments. The intense heat from the fire shattered windows in two bedrooms, but by God’s grace, nothing inside the home was damaged. Firefighters were able to quickly cover the windows, preventing water from the hoses from entering the house.

One of the sheds stored all of the camping gear for their family of eight—equipment they used to create lasting memories together outdoors. The second shed contained yard tools, a lawnmower, woodworking tools, table saws, RC cars, and countless personal and irreplaceable items representing years of hard work, hobbies, and shared joy. While we are deeply grateful that no one was injured, the loss has been overwhelming. Replacing what was destroyed and rebuilding what was lost will be a significant financial burden, especially for a family of eight.
