Hello, my name is Shannon.
My 24 year old son has just lost everything after his trailer caught on fire. He, as so many others of our youth have been priced out of the housing market with inflated housing prices and rent costs that are prohibitive. Utilities keep going up and the cost of food is outrageous even at harvest time.
My son made himself a home. He purchased a fifth wheel trailer, worked to pay it off and parked it at his work. He slowly collected the household necessities that he needed.
He had created a place of his own.
Then he walked out of his work and found his trailer in flames with his two dogs inside. He ran into the burning trailer and saved his dogs before the roof came down on him. He lost everything else except for those dogs and the clothes on his back.
The Red Cross was amazing in providing immediate lodging but they can only do 72 hours from the time of the fire.
It is winter here in Northern Ontario. As I write this the temperature is -20c with a windchill of -33c and winter has only begun.
He now has no place to live and is starting from square one.
Please, please help by donating to his go fund me so this young man has a chance to have a real home of his own.
My hope is to help him by raising enough money to pay for a small home and basic necessities. He can then begin to rebuild what he has lost. The daily cost of living, which includes fuel, food, heat (winter in Northern Ontario), electricity and other necessities) makes it nearly impossible for young people today to buy a home and work to get ahead.
Please help a hardworking young person have a home of his own and help him replace what he has lost.
Thank you for reading this and any donations that you gift him with.
Thank you,
Shannon
