My name is Rahman Martin, and I am a first-generation college student in my family. I was raised in a single-parent household by my mother after losing my father at a young age. My mother has worked incredibly hard to provide for me, and I am endlessly grateful for everything she has sacrificed to support me. However, despite her efforts and my determination to succeed, we simply do not have the financial means to pay for my education out of pocket. Pursuing higher education is a dream I’ve worked tirelessly toward, but the financial burden remains a constant and heavy weight on my mother shoulders. Education has always been my path forward—an opportunity not only to change my future, but to uplift my family and honor my father's memory. I am committed to making the most of every opportunity I receive, and I take great pride in what I’ve accomplished so far.
