On the morning of September 15th, my son became the victim of a horrific and random act of violence. While locked out of his vehicle and waiting for roadside assistance outside a party, a group of strangers approached him and, without warning, opened fire. He was shot multiple times and left with life-threatening injuries.
His girlfriend — who is also pregnant with their first child — witnessed the entire traumatic event and acted quickly to call 911, likely saving his life. Emergency responders arrived swiftly and rushed him to Banner Desert Hospital, where he was immediately taken into the ICU.
He sustained multiple severe injuries, including a punctured lung (requiring intubation and a chest tube), a fractured clavicle, a broken rib, and gunshot wounds through his arm, chest, and back. He also has an autoimmune disorder, which has significantly complicated his treatment and recovery.
He has undergone multiple procedures and continues to battle both the physical pain and the emotional toll of what happened. To make things even harder, another bullet wound — initially missed — was later found on his foot.
This tragedy has drawn media coverage throughout the Valley, and the police investigation is still ongoing. Both of their phones, his vehicle, and other personal belongings have been impounded as evidence, and may not be returned for months.

Why We’re Asking for Help
While my son has made small steps toward recovery, he’s struggling — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. He’s overwhelmed by the loss of his mobility, his independence, and his ability to work. Most heartbreaking of all, he feels like he has nothing left and no clear path forward, especially with a baby on the way.
He will need significant support to recover, both medically and emotionally — and to rebuild a life after this senseless act of violence. Our family is doing all we can, but the financial burden is growing, and the challenges ahead are immense.
How Your Donation Will Help
We’re raising funds to help cover at least the next 4–6 months of essential needs while he recovers, including:
Medical Expenses: Emergency care, ongoing treatment, medications, and follow-up care.
Living Expenses: Rent, utilities, and essentials while he’s unable to work and without transportation.
Emotional Support: Helping his girlfriend stay by his side at the hospital, while also ensuring she’s taken care of during her pregnancy.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, it will make a real and lasting difference. If you can’t give financially, simply sharing this page or sending words of encouragement means the world to us.
As a mother, watching my son suffer through something so violent and unfair has been heartbreaking. I never imagined having to write something like this, but I’ve realized how much strength there is in asking for help — and how powerful community support can be during the darkest times.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us carry this impossible weight.
With sincere gratitude,
Ashley and family
