Hello all who visit this page. For those who may not know me, my name is Rick Bocek and I am a retired Assistant Fire Chief from Cicero Fire Department. On July 26, 2021 my son Joe was in a traumatic train accident. He was walking across train tracks and unfortunately was hit by an oncoming train. He has been at Loyola Medical Center for over two weeks and is still recovering. I decided to start a go-fund-me account for Joe's recovery expenses. Yes, my God's love and grace, Joe survived and will need much therapy when he leaves the hospital.
We are grateful for all the efforts put forth by each individual who responded to the accident that day, especially, Cicero Fire Department. Their quick response and perfect execution of taking my son out saved his life. We are also grateful for the trauma team at Loyola for their continued efforts that heal Joe. I hope you can consider giving a little, every bit counts.
Currently Joe has started walking with assistance but will still require continued therapy until he regains strength and balance to do it on his own. This is the beginning of a long road to complete recovery.
Thank you,
Rick
