Hello beautiful people. I am a 30 year old single mother. I have a 7 year old boy who is about to turn 8. We have been living in poverty. This time of year it gets really hard and I start to feel hopeless choosing between giving my son the bare minimum for a birthday or paying rent. I am reaching out with zero expectations. I don't expect anything to come from this. My son is so deserving. He has big emotions and I have tried so hard not to let him know our situation but when he asks for a $160 Lego set I smile and say "okay well see" hiding the fact I can't afford it. He is deeply sensitive. I would love to give him some joy. We've had an extremely hard year. His father is not involved and he's starting to have big feelings about that. I just want to give him a nice birthday. Even $5 would help. My son wants to be a marine biologist and he is obsessed with the ocean and has a deep love for animals. He is very empathetic.
