I’m reaching out to you today with a heavy heart. My sister’s 6-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, who weighs just 9 lbs, is her best friend. She brought her all the way from the Philippines to Canada, and since then, they’ve been inseparable. This sweet dog has always been full of energy, love, and joy—her tail never stops wagging, and her playful spirit lights up the room.
Recently, she injured her right leg, so we put her on crate rest, hoping it would help her heal. It was so hard to watch her lie there, sad and restless, but we thought she’d get better. After a week of being confined to her crate, my sister’s worst fears came true—she hurt her other leg, her left knee. After seeing the vet, we learned that she has a complete rupture of her cranial cruciate ligament (CCL), and it’s a Grade 4 tear, which means she can’t walk on either of her hind legs. It’s heartbreaking to see her carrying all her weight using just her two front legs, dragging herself around. She’s so strong, but it’s painful to watch her struggle like this.
To make matters even worse, she has kidney issues that complicate everything. She’s now completely on crate rest, and it’s been incredibly difficult for her to even pee or poop, as she can't squat to relieve herself. All she can do is watch her dog siblings run and play while she’s stuck inside her crate.
The vet has recommended a TPLO surgery, which offers the best chance for her to recover and walk again, but the cost is around $8,000. We’re starting this fundraiser in hopes of raising the funds needed for her surgery and recovery. Any help, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing her story, would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support during this difficult time. We just want to give her the chance to run and play again
