Hello, I'm asking for support in helping my sisters get back on their feet after their neighbor caused a fire, making their unit unsafe and uninhabitable to live in. The neighbor's unit is completely destroyed, and there is a minimum 1-year timeline as to when or if they can get back into their home safely.

My sisters have had a hard time at their residence as they were not told upon signing the lease that their attached-wall neighbor was a difficult hoarder. Over the years, the health hazards and fire hazards were always something that worried them. Despite desperate pleas to their landlord, the HOA, and the city, nothing was ever done to take care of the situation.

A few days ago, they smelled smoke and opened the door to realize there was a lot of smoke coming from too close by. Once they realized it was the neighbor's house on fire, they barely managed to escape with minutes to spare. The fire department said if they had arrived just 5 minutes later, the unit could have collapsed. Their home has been damaged, including all of their furniture, clothing, kitchenware, etc., and now they don't have a lot of time or funds to be able to find a new place to live.

My sisters work so hard, working 10+ grueling hours a day trying to make ends meet and having this setback has been devastating and heartbreaking as they are at a loss as to how to move forward. They need help getting back on their feet to find temporary and new housing and to replace their damaged goods and furniture, which the funds would be used for.
