Hi, my name is Brea and I'm fundraising for my sister's family. A month ago her husband was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa and macular degeneration. He has lost the job he loved because he can no longer drive, and he is quickly going blind. His full time efforts are now committed to learning how to navigate the world without sight.

My sister is now the only person taking care of her household; despite having two children, one with special needs, and a husband who needs her support, she is the only person in her family who can work. Government assistance will not cover cost of living in Canada, even in the more affordable areas of the country. Nothing will replace her husband's vision. Nothing will replace her presence in the lives of her children, but she will now be out of the house trying to feed them and keep them housed.

Your assistance will not solve her problems, but you can blunt the knife sawing away at her family and give her the resources she needs to transition to this new, much harsher, reality.
