Help My Sister and Her Family Recover From the Palisades Fire

My name is Sadie Ball and in a time of Crisis my sister has asked me for help. I know that this is just the beginning of her suffering and journey with recovery from the Palisades fire.

The Palisades Fire has turned lives upside down, and my sister, her boyfriend, and their beloved dogs are among the countless victims who have lost everything. They were renting their home along the Pacific Coast Highway, and now, in the wake of the fire, they are facing unimaginable challenges and starting over from nothing.

Here’s what they’re going through:

Lost Home & Belongings: The fire destroyed their rental home and everything inside. They’ve lost all their clothes, basic hygiene essentials, sentimental keepsakes, and more.

No Transportation: My sister’s car was also destroyed in the fire. Without reliable transportation, even getting to job interviews or doctor’s appointments has become a nearly impossible challenge. Financially, other options like rideshares or rentals aren’t feasible.

Business Devastation: Her boyfriend’s workplace has also been impacted by the Franklin and Palisades fire and does not know when he will get to return to work. The fire has impacted both of their jobs and created financial strain. My sister’s workplace has also burned down, and she must now look for another job like many others.

Health Concerns: While trying to evacuate infants at the school where she works, my sister inhaled significant amounts of smoke. She’s now experiencing serious difficulty breathing and needs medical care to evaluate what her next steps are for her health.

Complete Loss: Like many others affected by the fire, they are left with nothing but the clothes they had on. The emotional toll of losing their home, possessions, and sense of stability is heartbreaking.

We’re hoping to raise $20,000 to help them take the first steps toward rebuilding their lives. This amount of funds, if reached, is only a small amount of what can be replaced right now without a home and no vehicle. These funds will go toward essential expenses like temporary housing, transportation, medical care, basic hygiene necessities, clothing, food, and furnishing a hopefully a new home if they can find one in their budget.

This is just the beginning of their recovery, and they need help more than ever. Any donation—no matter how small—will make an enormous difference.
