A few days ago, my sister, her husband, and their 11-month-old daughter survived the devastating tornado that tore through Merrillville, Indiana. In just a few minutes, they lost the home they had built their lives around. Today, they were told their building has officially been condemned, and they have only one week to recover what belongings they can before it's no longer safe to enter. They are now facing the unimaginable stress of trying to care for their baby while figuring out where they will live and how they will replace everything they've lost. Without renters insurance, they are starting over with very little.
