My sister, her husband, my two nephews, and both grandmothers have just experienced a devastating house fire that took everything they owned. In an instant, their home and all their belongings were lost. The fire also claimed the lives of several beloved pet cats, and one cat is currently at the vet fighting for its life. Only one cat, two dogs, and a turtle survived the tragedy.

This family has always come together to care for each other. Both grandmothers, who live with them, are in poor health and have very limited income. My school aged nephews have lost not only their home but also the sense of security and comfort that every child deserves.
