Four Years of Hope: Help My Sister Take Her Next Step
At just 46 years old, my sister’s life changed forever.
Nearly four years ago, she suffered a devastating stroke that left her unable to walk. Doctors told us she might never walk again.
Before her stroke, she was a devoted mother, raising her children, working, and actively serving her community. Overnight, everything changed. My niece was only 11 years old when she watched her mom begin the fight of her life.
But my sister never gave up.
For almost four years, she has faithfully attended therapy, fighting every day to regain as much independence as possible. While she has made incredible progress, she continues to live with foot drop and weakness on her left side. The brace she currently uses is painful, difficult to put on, and doesn’t provide the support she needs.
Now she has an opportunity to receive an L300 functional electrical stimulation brace, a device that could improve her walking, increase her independence, and help reduce her risk of falls.
The brace costs approximately $6,000. Insurance has approved 50% of the cost, leaving our family responsible for the remaining $3,000.
We’re asking for your help to bridge that gap.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping purchase this brace. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser means more than you know.
My sister’s dream goes beyond walking. She hopes to become more independent, return to serving her community, and one day attend college to study public speaking so she can encourage other stroke survivors and raise awareness that recovery doesn’t end after the hospital—it continues through hope, determination, and perseverance.
If you or someone you love has been affected by a stroke, you understand how life can change in an instant. We hope you’ll consider becoming part of my sister’s journey.
Thank you for believing in her, praying for her, and helping her take another step forward.
