Help My Sister Through Her Painful Recovery
Donation protected
“Lucky to Be Alive” Is an Understatement
My sister Nicole Richards recently survived a horrific accident that could have ended far worse. She was T-boned by a school bus on icy roads in MN and walked away—barely—with a broken pelvis in five places, which she found out days after being released from the hospital. Even the school bus couldn’t drive away from the scene of the crash. While we’re grateful she’s alive, the road to recovery is long and challenging, and she needs our help.
My sister has poured her heart and soul into building a business to support those suffering from Crohn’s disease and living with a colostomy bag. She isn’t working a traditional 9-to-5 job because she’s fully dedicated to helping others through her work. Now, due to this accident, she’s unable to work, and her financial situation is dire.
After being hospitalized in St. Cloud, Minnesota, she was told she could leave—even though she couldn’t walk. Later, she discovered she had five fractures and broken bones in her pelvis. She was sent home on crutches, unable to care for herself or continue her work.
To make matters worse, her car was towed from the scene of the accident, and she wasn’t allowed to retrieve her personal belongings until she paid nearly $800 for towing and storage fees—for a vehicle that is now completely unusable. She only had liability insurance, and since the accident happened on icy roads, no one has been found at fault.
She is now facing enormous expenses, including:
• Costs associated with doctor visits, surgeries, and therapy (transportation costs since she cannot drive and has no vehicle)
• Towing and impound fees, along with replacing her vehicle
• Basic living expenses while she’s unable to work
Anything you can give will help my sister get back on her feet—literally and figuratively—and rebuild her life. No donation is too small. Thank you for your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time.
