My sister is currently in the process of divorcing her husband and facing a potential custody battle. They started seeing each other when she was 15 and he was 23, she got pregnant very soon after turning 16. Her mother filed a restraining order which was ultimately granted but under his influence they violated the restraining order and moved to a new state to raise their daughter. She recently had their 4th child at 24 years old. she’s been a stay at home mom since she was 17 years old and has completely relied on him financially to house, clothe, and feed their children. After 9 years of isolation from all family and friends/ any type of support system as well as serial cheating and questionable behavior by the man that groomed her, she has made the choice to step away from the situation he has put her in. My sister has been a loving and dedicated mother since she was a child herself, she has given every ounce of who she is and who she could have been to her children. Earlier this week around 8pm I got a frantic call from her that she needed to leave tonight, I jumped in the car no questions asked because this is LONG overdue. We packed a U-Haul with their essential items and as much of the children’s things we could grab and we left before he was able to get home. We drove 6 hours to get here with all of the children and a couple hundred dollars to her name. She has a place to stay for her and her children while she works part time and gets enrolled in some college classes.
