Help my sister save her beloved dog!
Donation protected
Anyone that knows my sister Lisa knows that she is one-of-a-kind, super empathetic, and that when she loves something or someone, she loves deeply. Lisa has a dog named Nate, and she loves him so very much, but Nate has been sick. What started as a small lump on his toe has turned into over a year long rollercoaster of treatment, recovery, complications, and many, many pills, procedures, and vet visits. Through it all, Lisa has never questioned that Nate deserves every chance he can get at beating this thing. Nate has kept his good spirits, for the most part, and always has a smile and a tail wag for Lisa and her partner, Jose.
All this to say, this week has been very rough for Nate, Lisa, and Jose. What started as vomiting on a Sunday (not an uncommon occurrence over the past year or so), progressed to an ICU admission on Wednesday. Thankfully, while updates from the vet that afternoon were initially “it’s not looking good, we can’t keep his blood pressure up,” Nate improved and Lisa and Jose were able to visit him that evening. Nate paid them handsomely with some tail wagging and that happy look in his eyes. Friday brought even better news, with Lisa and Jose being able to spend more time with him, scritching his head and feeding him some chicken the vet provided.
As we all know, none of this comes cheap. Lisa told me that the vet anticipates that Nate will probably need to stay until Monday. Lisa, this dear sweet sister of mine, blames herself for Nate getting this sick. Who among us has never been there, kicking ourselves for not getting something checked sooner… But after over a year of this rollercoaster, you learn that it’s not always the best move to rush to the vet again and cause stress for both animal and hooman. She feels she can’t ask for charity, but I sure can ask for her (yes, I got her permission to start this campaign!)…
I know times are tough, but can you throw a few bucks my sister’s way so that her doggo can get all the care he needs to get through this most recent rough patch?
All proceeds will go directly to Nate’s mounting medical costs, of course! On the unlikely chance that there are any leftovers, they will be donated to the animal rescue of Lisa’s choice.
