Hi everyone, I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister, D’siah, who is 30 years old and living with a disability that affects her mobility and independence. She’s one of the strongest people I know, and it’s not easy for me to ask for help, but right now, she truly needs support.
For a while now, D’siah has been without an accessible vehicle. Unfortunately, the local transportation options available to her are unreliable and inconsistent. Rides are often delayed, unavailable, or simply not equipped to meet her accessibility needs. Because of this, even basic things like getting to medical appointments, running errands, or staying connected with friends and family have become incredibly difficult.
An accessible vehicle would completely change her day-to-day life. It would give her the freedom and independence many of us take for granted. With reliable transportation, she would be able to get to her medical appointments and therapies safely and on time, handle everyday tasks like grocery shopping and errands, stay socially connected and involved in her community, and pursue opportunities for work, volunteering, or education.
The reality is that accessible vehicles and the modifications they require are extremely expensive, far more than we can afford on our own. That’s why I’m asking for help on her behalf. Any donation, no matter the amount, will bring her closer to regaining her independence and having the ability to explore more. Understanding times are hard for many, if you’re not able to give, sharing this campaign would mean so much to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for any support you can offer. It truly means the world to both of us. With gratitude, Kaushiema
