My sister has always been a hard worker, running her own house cleaning business and helping others keep their homes in order. Two months ago, everything changed when she started experiencing severe back pain. After a trip to the hospital, she learned she had a fractured vertebrae and needed surgery. Since then, she has been in and out of the hospital for pain, and her doctors recently discovered she has lost 20% more bone in her spine due to osteoporosis. On top of that, she is still being treated for a heart attack she suffered two years ago. Just yesterday, an ambulance took her back to the hospital, where they found she now has four broken vertebrae and a fractured tailbone. She will need another surgery and, heartbreakingly, can no longer work cleaning houses, which was her only source of income. We have reached out to see if she can get on SSDI, but there is a mix-up with her phone number, and her appointment isn’t until the end of March. She also recently lost her dog, which has been another emotional blow during this difficult time.
Right now, my sister needs help to cover her rent and utilities for February and March while she waits for her SSDI appointment and recovers from her surgeries. She has always been independent and generous, but this situation has left her unable to support herself. Any support you can offer will go directly toward keeping a roof over her head and the lights on as she focuses on healing.
Thank you for reading and please share. Anything you can spare will help. We are hoping to get her back to walking and signed up for SSDI as soon as possible. Your kindness and support mean the world to us during this challenging time.
