Help my sister recover from a stroke
Donation protected
Dearest Family and Friends,
As many of you know, my sister, Anna, recently had a stroke. She is only 41 years old and it was completely unexpected. The doctors say that she was born with a blood vessel leading to her brain that is too narrow. This could have happened at any time, and we all had no idea.
Her boss at work recognized the signs of a stroke and sent her to the emergency room, essentially saving her life. It is a miracle that she is alive with no long term affects!
She is in recovery now, and the doctors say she is not allowed to work for two more months. She cannot read or do many everyday tasks. In December, they will administer tests to see if she is able to return back to work, or if she needs four more months of rest.
Anna looked into getting help from various government programs, but she does not qualify for any of them. She was just one week shy of the required time at her new job to qualify for short term disability. She has used up all her savings for last month, and now rent is due soon.
She has a great job waiting for her when she gets back to health, but right now she has no way to pay for essentials like food and rent. She is supposed to be resting, but instead is worried about where her next meal is coming from, and whether she will be evicted. I wish I could be there in person to take care of her, but we live in opposite sides of the country.
Please consider helping my sister pay for food and rent on her modest apartment for the next few months. I realize this is a tough time financially for many of us, so any amount would be appreciated. If you can’t give monetarily, please pray for her quick recovery, good results to the tests in December, and lifted spirits during this difficult time for her. Thank you, and God bless you.
Love,
Stephanie Tumney
