My sister, Heidi Helton and her fiancé recently moved to Mississippi, hoping for a fresh start. But just as they were settling in, a massive ice storm hit and a huge tree crashed down on their rental house, making it completely uninhabitable. To make matters worse, the tree also fell on both of their cars, leaving them with expensive insurance deductibles to cover.
Their situation became even more complicated when the sale of their house back in St. Louis fell through at the last minute. Now, they’re stuck with two housing payments—one for the home in St. Louis and another for rent in Mississippi—while also needing to find a temporary, pet-friendly place to stay and a storage unit to move their belongings out of the damaged rental. On top of all this, her fiancé is in and out of the hospital with serious health issues, adding even more stress and uncertainty to their lives.
They are doing everything they can to get back on their feet, but the challenges keep piling up. Any help, no matter how small, would mean the world to my sister and her fiancé as they try to recover from this series of setbacks. Your kindness and support will help them find stability, cover urgent expenses, and start rebuilding after this devastating event. Thank you so much for considering a donation and for sharing their story.
