A real bad wind storm passed through Rochester, New York, and a huge tree fell on my sister’s house, causing a lot of damage. She tried to reach out to local organizations, but like many people, she has no insurance, and they’re unable to give her assistance. I want to help her because she has a serious medical condition and I don’t want her to have more than she can handle on her plate.
This same house burned down during COVID and was completely rebuilt. My sister has serious health conditions and she is disabled Her roommate suffered a stroke. They have fought so hard to keep this home together. They are not people who gave up, they are people who have been fighting for years and got hit again.
I’ll be posting some photographs of the damage so you can see what she’s facing. She just needs to get the tree off her house and get her roof repaired.
I’ve included a message she wrote reaching out for help:
“A tree fell through my bedroom roof on my birthday last night. We're without insurance and facing significant repair costs. I've already reached out to Habitat for Humanity and similar organizations without success. If you can help financially, know of any local resources, or know contractors who work with people in difficult situations, please reach out or share this post. Any help means everything right now.”
Any help—whether it's a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or offering advice—would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer during this challenging time.
