My sister’s fiancé was diagnosed with cancer late last year and, heartbreakingly, passed away in November. During this time, my sister was already struggling with her own health issues, including a blood clotting disorder and peripheral artery disease. When her fiancé became ill, she put her own needs aside to care for him in his final days, even though she knew she needed to work and save money. She made the selfless choice to be by his side, knowing that his belongings would go to his children and she would be left to start over.
Now, she is facing the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding her life from scratch. She has a very limited amount of time to find a home before she will be homeless, is caring for two dogs and three cats, and is working a job that barely covers her utilities—all while mourning the loss of her loved one. The emotional and financial toll has been immense, and she is doing her best to hold on and move forward.
Because of the astronomical cost of renting a home nowadays, I am hoping to raise enough to purchase her a used camper that she can park on a rented lot for a couple of years. This would give her a safe place to live, some stability, and the chance to save up money so she can get back on her feet. Any support—big or small—will make a world of difference for my sister as she tries to rebuild her life. If you’re able to donate or share this fundraiser, it would mean so much to us. Thank you for caring and for helping her find hope again.
