Please Help Holly, Don & Courtney After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister Holly, her husband Don and daughter Courtney to ask for your support. Like many, they have recently experienced an unimaginable loss.
On the morning of Wednesday, January 8, their beloved home in Altadena was destroyed by the Eaton fire. Tragically, Holly and Don lost everything, as they had only minutes to react when they were evacuated at 2:30 a.m. They grabbed a few essential papers, medications, and some clothes, but that's all.
Both Holly and Don are over 70 years old and retired. Don is a retired teacher and had deep roots in the community. Starting over at this stage in their lives—after being members of the Altadena community for so long—feels overwhelmingly daunting. The loss is not just of their home, but of a life they built together in a place they love.
Courtney, Holly’s daughter, who works in production, had just found a new place to live after spending much of 2024 back in this home with her mom and stepfather, supporting each other through a difficult year. She was in the process of moving when the fire struck, and thus lost almost everything she owned — her art, treasured memories, and personal belongings— with no chance to salvage them.
Holly’s family is private and proud of the life they built. They would never ask for help themselves, but right now, they could use the support. Any money raised will allow us to help out with the many aspects of recovering from this crisis as they face the overwhelming task of getting back on their feet.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity!
