Help My Sister & Niece Escape Toxic Mold and Rebuild Their Lives

Hi everyone,

I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but my sister and her daughter need help—and fast.

Chelsea and Cara have been living in a rental home that, unbeknownst to them, was full of toxic black mold. Over the last year, their health has taken a sharp decline—constant fatigue, respiratory issues, strange rashes, brain fog, and endless doctor visits with no clear answers… until recently. Tests confirmed what we feared: their home is making them sick. And it’s not safe to stay there anymore.

Right now, they’re trying to get out as quickly as possible, but starting over is overwhelming. Most of their belongings are contaminated and can’t be taken with them—not furniture, clothes, bedding, or even Caras toys. On top of that, Chelsea hasn’t been able to work due to the toll this has taken on her mentally and physically. She’s doing everything she can to stay afloat for her little girl, but the stress is piling up.

We’re raising funds to help them:

• Move into a safe, mold-free home

• Replace essential belongings (beds, clothes, kitchen items, etc.)

This isn’t a situation anyone expects to be in. Those of you who know Chelsea know that she is strong, hardworking, and the kind of mom who will go without so her kid doesn’t have to—but this is bigger than her, and she can’t fight it alone.
