On April 10, my sister Laurie Farinella was a lifesaver!

Laurie lived on the first floor of a multi-family house, and on early Saturday morning it caught on fire.   Once she realized the house was in flames she jumped into action without hesitation to start knocking on all the other apartment doors with her baseball bat.  She saved at least 3 families with children and 2 disabled people without any injuries.  To me Laurie is a genuine hero...She says, "She did what anyone else would do."  


Laurie lives with her 15 year old son who was thankfully not home at the time.

They both lost everything; clothes, furniture, electronics, as well as all personal and sentimental items that can't be replaced due to this horrific fire.  As we know there is no greater value than the value of human life.  We are beyond grateful for everyone's safety.

My sister and nephew will now have to start over from scratch.  As you can imagine this is incredibly traumatic (emotionally & financially) to them both. Please consider donating any amount to help alleviate some of the stress they will continue to face as they begin to rebuild.
