My sister is a single mom doing everything she can to provide for her four children—her girls are 18 and 16, and her boys are 10 and 8. She works two jobs to try and maintain everything on her own, and she’s always been a hard worker. Recently, she faced an emergency surgery that forced her to miss work, and without a paycheck, she quickly fell behind on her rent. Despite her best efforts to catch up, she went to court yesterday and was told she needs to pay her rent or risk losing her home.

She’s been trying so hard to keep things together for her kids, but right now, she doesn’t even have anything for the holidays—no tree, no presents, nothing. It breaks my heart to see her struggle, and I wish I could help her myself, but I don’t have the extra money. That’s why I’m reaching out to our community for support.
