Hello, my name is Kim, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my beloved sister and her family. After surviving a life-threatening battle with sepsis, she unexpectedly lost her eyesight and is now learning how to navigate life completely blind. I'm raising funds to help cover her living expenses, medical care, transportation, and adaptive equipment as she rebuilds her life and works toward independence. On March 26, our family's world changed forever.

For months, my sister sought medical help for a lump near her temple. Despite multiple visits to healthcare providers, she was repeatedly sent home without testing or answers, even as her condition continued to worsen. By March 26, she was critically ill.

What began as another trip to the hospital quickly became a fight for her life. She developed sepsis, her kidneys shut down, and she required emergency dialysis. There were moments when doctors weren't sure she would survive.

By God's grace, she survived—but the sepsis took her eyesight.

She entered the hospital able to see and left completely blind. In just a matter of days, her entire world went dark with a hospital stay of a little less than two months. Now she faces the unimaginable challenge of learning to navigate life without her vision.

My sister is only 50 years old. She has always been fun-loving, active, hardworking, and deeply devoted to her family. She loved her job, treasured time with family and friends, and is a loving mother of three children. In an instant, everything she knew changed. Everyday tasks that most of us rarely think about have become overwhelming obstacles.

As she begins this new journey, she is facing tremendous financial hardship. Unable to work, she needs assistance with:

Housing and monthly bills

Groceries and household essentials

Transportation to medical appointments

Ongoing medical care and rehabilitation

Adaptive equipment and resources for individuals who are blind
