Hello, my name is Maria and I am raising funds to help my sister. My sister has Down syndrome, but that doesn’t stop her from being a light in all our lives. She is funny, caring, and attentive.

Recently, she has been complaining of abdominal issues, so we sent some money to Mexico so that she could be seen by a doctor in town. Sadly, the news was not what we expected. According to her doctor, Estela, my sister has a tumor in her colon. The news kept getting worse; doctors also found ovarian cysts and a kidney stone.

We have always struggled to keep her in good health because she is so far away from us, but we do our best. I am currently dealing with my own legal issues and don’t have enough money to help my sister get the care she needs. My family and I are asking the public to assist in any way they can. If you are familiar with any resources for people with Down syndrome, please let me know. If you can spare a few dollars, that would help as well.

Estela is in a lot of pain, and the pain medication wears off quickly. I can’t bear to know that she is in so much pain. Thank you for any contribution you may make.
