Help My Sister Get Life-Saving Brain Surgery in Spain

Donation protected
My name is Hope, I’m reaching out on behalf of my beautiful, inspiring, resilient, and strong sister, Tara, who is now facing the fight of her life.

Tara’s Story
Eleven years ago, at just 23 years old, my sister Tara underwent brain surgery to remove an oligodendroglioma, a rare form of brain tumor. Her surgery was successful. However, doctors warned her:

“This kind of tumor can return. It could be in 10 years, or it could be in 50, there is just no way to know".

That reality became something Tara quietly carried with her every single day.

On the very same day learning she had the brain Tumor, Tara found out she was pregnant with her first child, our beautiful niece Isabelle. We truly believe she was a gift from God. In one of the most uncertain moments of Tara’s life, Isabelle became her reason to fight, her light, her strength, her purpose.

As time has passed us all, Tara has been nothing short of a warrior. She went on to have her second child, Zavier, and her love for both of them has guided her through every challenge life has thrown her way. Over the last 11 years, she’s lived courageously, making the most of every moment, never letting fear stop her from loving deeply or living fully.

Heartbreakingly, the tumor has returned and it’s grown significantly.

What has made this news even more devastating is, it came completely out of the blue. Tara has been living her life to the fullest, completely asymptomatic, active, and thriving. She’s been working, raising her children, playing sport at an elite level representing both her state and country, and enjoying every moment with a deep appreciation for life. There were no warning signs. No pain. No symptoms. Just a routine check-up that turned our world upside down. There just isn't words that describe how shocked we all were to find out something so serious has been silently growing inside her, despite how vibrant, strong, and full of life she’s is.

Because of the tumor’s size and critical location, it poses a serious and urgent threat to her life. After consultations with specialists, we’ve been told Tara needs to act immediately. There is only one real option: highly specialised brain surgery in Spain. And it has to happen now, before the tumor becomes inoperable.

This now is a matter of life or death for our Tara.

Why We’re Asking for Help
The surgery carries serious risks, but also the greatest hope for long-term survival and quality of life. The neurosurgeon in Spain is one of the few with the experience needed to attempt to remove the entire tumor.

Through it all, Tara has continued to show unbelievable strength, grace, and faith in God, in herself, and in life. She wakes up every day with a quiet determination to fight, not just for herself, but for her children, her family, and everyone who loves her.

Tara is not the kind of person to ever ask for anything. She has always trusted that life will unfold as it’s meant to: with grace, with faith, and in divine timing. But those of us who love her deeply know that now is the time to step in.

This is our way of fighting for her. This is how we show up for someone who has shown up for all of us: as a sister, a daughter, a mother, a friend, and a light in so many lives.

Her children, Isabelle and Zavier are still so young. They need their mum. Tara is doing everything in her power to stay by their side, to watch them grow, guide them through life’s challenges, celebrate their joys, and simply be there through each of their milestones. Years ago, we lost our father in a tragic workplace accident. Growing up without him, Tara knows the pain of losing a parent all too well. That loss has made her even more determined to fight for time, fight for her life, to be here for her own children in all the ways she needed as a child.

Tara has her whole life ahead of her. She was recently engaged to her childhood sweetheart, and together they’ve been building a future a family filled with love and hope. This has been a heartbreaking time for her fiancé, our family, and especially her two young children, who need their mum more than ever. With your support, Tara can get the urgent surgery and care she needs and continue being the light in all of our lives. Every moment counts.

What We’re Raising Funds For
We are asking for your help to raise 150 000 to cover:

  • Life-saving brain surgery in Spain
  • Post-operative care and rehabilitation
  • Living costs during her treatment and recovery period
  • Travel and accommodation for Tara and her family

Our hope is simple: if 150,000 kind hearts could give just $1 each, we could reach our goal, and give Tara the chance to grow old with her beautiful children.

It’s not about how much you can give, but how many people care enough to stand with her. Every dollar, every share, every act of support truly matters.

And if you’re not in a position to donate right now, we completely understand. Please consider sharing Tara’s story with your community, your workplace, your school, or your social media. You never know who might be able to help.

Who Tara Is
Tara is more than just a loving mother. She’s my sister. She’s our rock. She’s the person who makes everyone feel safe, heard, and loved. She’s the one who lights up every room she walks into, not by demanding attention, but by simply being herself: warm, generous, open-hearted, and full of life.

She’s touched so many people, quietly, powerfully, and selflessly. Now it’s our turn to give back to her and we need the help of friends, family and community.

Please help us give Tara the chance to live, to heal, and to be here for the people who love her so much.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for helping Tara fight for her life, and for the future not only she deserves but her family, her Isabelle and Zavier.
