My name is Trey, and I never imagined I would have to write something like this about my sister.

My sister Tamara is currently detained in Cambodia, thousands of miles away from her family and, most importantly, her young daughter here in the UK.

Everything has happened incredibly quickly. As a family, we are doing everything we possibly can from here, contacting the British authorities, trying to arrange welfare support and desperately trying to secure proper legal representation for her in Cambodia.

But the reality is that we cannot do this alone.

Legal representation and the costs involved in supporting Tamara from another country are more than our family can manage by ourselves. We are raising money so that she can have a lawyer there to protect her rights, understand exactly what is happening to her and make sure she is not facing this situation completely alone.

The hardest part of all of this is her daughter.

While Tamara is detained, her daughter is being cared for by family here in the UK. She is safe, loved and being looked after, but she is still a child whose mum is suddenly thousands of miles away from her. We are trying to give her as much stability and normality as possible while, behind the scenes, we fight to help her mum.

Tamara is not just somebody whose name is attached to a legal case. She is my sister. She is a daughter. And she is a mum with a little girl waiting for her.

Every donation will go towards helping us obtain legal representation for Tamara and meeting the necessary costs involved in supporting her through this situation. Our hope is simply to make sure she has proper help, that she is treated fairly, and ultimately that we can get her back home to her family.
