First let it be known that Charlotte is a very private person and has many anxieties about discussing her medical condition, let alone publicly admitting she needs help, but she’s been put in an extremely dire situation and can no longer take this on herself.
On January 28th Char was rushed into emergency surgery for a tear in her large intestine. The initial tear and muscle damage led to a handful of complications and additional painful surgeries. After 6 invasive operations, she’s now facing another infection that could lead to her 7th and 8th procedure if her body can’t fight it off. There is no guarantee that the infection can be fought off or that these next surgeries will fix what is happening, we are at the mercy of luck at this point.
Char has spent the last 10 months in bed unable to work literally fighting for her day-to-day, on top of the global pandemic we are all facing. She is extremely immunocompromised, is not on disability, and does not qualify for unemployment benefits. I wish more than anything that I could fly there to be with her every day. Because of Covid she is unable to have any visitors and has been quarantining with her partner Daniel, who has also been her full-time caretaker. Not only has this affected Char physically, but it has taken a huge mental toll as well.
All funds will move directly to her egregious medical bills and medical supplies. She, like many others, has been betrayed by the American health system and even with insurance owes close to 20,000 in medical bills. Please even if you can’t contribute financially if you could share this post in the hopes of spreading it, that would mean so much. “The only way out is through” is something Char reminds herself of everyday. Let’s help make the “through” as easy on her as possible because she has been through so much already. Her birthday is November 30th and I would love to take away as much of the financial burden as we can.
Thank you for your time and all your continued support!
