Help My Sister Carrie Fight Breast Cancer!!!
Donation protected
Eight years ago, my sister Carrie received the worst news imaginable, her 2-year-old daughter Megan, was diagnosed with leukemia. As a mother, father or friend you can only imagine how hearing this news could turn your whole world upside down. Extended stays in the hospital, doctor visits, treatments, the constant worry for your child, and how you would give anything to take her pain away. My sister has endured all that and more. The biggest relief now is knowing my niece has been in remission for a few years now; she just turned 10 years old.
Unfortunately, now it’s Carrie turn to fight this awful disease. My family received this news more than a week ago. Her recent biopsy confirmed she has been diagnosed with stage 2A Breast Cancer. This is an aggressive form of this nasty disease. She will have to begin chemotherapy as early as next week and will need surgery to remove the tumor.
As always, our family will continue to give her as much love and support as she needs, to help her beat this disease. The hope is to keep her as positive as possible and that remission will soon be in sight. For those of you that don’t already know my sister I would like to share a little about her; Carrie is a married mother of two great kids Megan (10) and Braden (11). She is the older sister to me, my brother Jon and Maryann. She is my best friend, she’s beautiful, generous, kind, funny, and the best Aunt. We hang out, we help one another, we have seen the best and worst of times together. We always manage to make it through our challenges. (this being one of the biggest challenges) If you have ever met Carrie her personality speaks for itself, she is just a sweet person. She is a self-employed hair stylist at Scarlet Salon, she has very basic health insurance with a very high deductible, some of her treatment will be covered by her insurance, but not all. As Carrie and her husband are both self-employed, time off for treatments and recovery will mean lost time at work. The combination of the high deductible, medical bills and loss time at work will take its toll financially.
As you can imagine, going through something like this can be very scary and emotionally draining. Imagine yourself repeating this story over & over again. By starting this fund me page, I am hoping this will be a way to keep all of Carrie’s friends and family informed on her progress. Your thoughts and prayers are just as valuable as your donation, in no way should you feel obligated to donate, but please know, it is greatly appreciated. Please share and keep Carrie and my mom in your prayers as well. My sister is everything to me and her light shines too bright to be darkened just yet.
