Hi everyone,
I’m creating this fundraiser for my sister Addie and her partner Roman after a devastating fire was deliberately lit at the property next door to their home.
The fire completely destroyed the house next door and caused significant damage to Addie and Roman’s home, personal belongings, contents, and car. They are a young couple who had only just moved out of home for the first time and had only been living there for a few months.
Addie is not only my sister, but a huge part of our family’s everyday life. I live only three doors away, and she is always visiting my kids, helping out, and being the loving aunty they adore. She also runs her own small business, so this has placed an enormous amount of stress on her personally, emotionally, and financially.
Roman was home when the fire happened, which is terrifying to think about, but thankfully he is safe. While we are incredibly grateful that no one was seriously hurt, the impact of the fire has been heartbreaking. In one night, their sense of safety, stability, and the home they had only just started building together was turned upside down through no fault of their own.
Even after everything they have been through, Addie and Roman went to the local fire brigade today and delivered a hamper to say thank you to the firefighters who responded. That small act says a lot about the kind of people they are — grateful, thoughtful, and always thinking of others, even during such a difficult time.
We are hoping to raise funds to help them with immediate and ongoing costs, including replacing damaged belongings, furniture, clothing, everyday essentials, vehicle repairs or replacement costs, temporary living expenses if needed, and support while Addie gets back on her feet with her small business.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also be a massive help.
Addie and Roman are kind, hardworking, and were only just beginning this new chapter of their lives together. They never expected to be facing something like this, and any support will help them start to rebuild and feel safe again.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support.
