Help My Service Dog Charlie Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Anyone who has met my PTSD Service Dog, Charlie, has had their life changed by her. She has been a stalwart companion of mine for the last 9 years and has been part of the lives of everyone around me.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Charlie is in surgery right now as Dr. Sweet from Blue Ravine Animal Hospital attempts to remove another tumor from Charlie's left forepaw. This is Charlie's third run-in with mast cell tumors; the last one resulted in the amputation of her middle digit on the same foot.
With this being the third tumor we've had to remove, you can only imagine that costs are really starting to add up. So, I have reluctantly decided to solicit donations from the community to help us offset the cost of maintaining this amazing companion's care.
If Charlie has impacted your life, and you want to show your support for her surgery, recovery, and ongoing medications and treatment, please consider a small donation. Anything helps.
UPDATE...The good and the bad…surgery went well but the tumor was wrapped around the structure of and the bones of the foot. The surgeon also found another smaller tumor a centimeters away from the surgical site.
So, that’s the bad news tumors will be continuing. So medications and treatments will continue for the duration of her dog days. I’m just hoping there will be many more of those.
Thank you to everyone that have donated. The costs are just starting it looks like.
