On July 16th, I received a text from the Rhea County Animal Control office that changed everything. My beloved girl, who had been missing, was found in a horrendous hoarding situation after over four hours of rescue efforts. She was discovered in an out shed with six other dogs, all suffering from neglect. My girl was malnourished, thirsty, matted, covered in fleas and ticks, and battling severe infections in both eyes that may leave her blind. The only thing that saved her was her microchip, which allowed Animal Control to contact me and reunite us.
Now, we are facing a long road to recovery. The funds raised will go directly toward her healing—covering vet care, food, toys, rehabilitation, and training. She needs extensive medical attention to address her eye infections and overall health, as well as comfort and support to help her feel safe again. I will share updates and medical reports as soon as I am able, so everyone can see her progress and the impact of your kindness.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who helped rescue these animals and is working to give them safe, loving homes. Having my girl back means the world to me, but we still have a lot of healing ahead. Any support you can offer is truly appreciated and will help give her the second chance she deserves. Thank you for being part of her journey to recovery.
