Help My Rescued Cat Recover

Donation protected
I rescued this sweet cat just before the last hard freeze in Houston. Someone must have dropped her off, and I hadn’t planned on having a pet—it's been over 15 years since I owned one. But I couldn’t leave her out in the cold, so I took her in and brought her to the vet for shots, worming, and flea medicine. I wanted to do everything right, including getting her spayed and chipped, but the vet said she was too young at the time.

A week later, she went into heat and, despite my best efforts, she got pregnant. She had six beautiful babies and was an amazing mother, always staying by their side. Recently, after a routine vet visit for flea medicine, she suddenly became very sick. Her temperature spiked to 105, and the vet diagnosed her with a serious infection. She was given antibiotics and pain medication, and I was told to separate her from her kittens so they could be bottle-fed. Thankfully, a kind young woman took in all six kittens to care for them, but now my cat is heartbroken and still not getting better.

I’m on Social Security and have run out of funds this month due to vet bills and unexpected car repairs. I’m terrified of losing her and don’t know what else to do. I love her so much and just want to give her a chance to recover. Any help or support would mean the world to us. Thank you for reading our story and considering a donation.
