Help My Rescue Kitty Easton Get His Life-Saving Surgery

Donation protected
Easton is my loving, playful, and big-hearted, rescue kitty who is at an emergency vet clinic in critical condition due to urinary crystals blocking his body's ability to flush out toxins. Today he is in life-saving surgery that will cost $2,200 and I need help with his vet bill. My goal amount is to raise $1,000 which will still go a long way towards his surgery, care, and recovery.

Easton's story
Easton Thomas Bushes was rescued June 7th, 2018 from the outdoors at Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was just a little baby, weighing at 2 pounds, and covered in fleas and had worms. If I didn't see him run under the car and into the bushes, he wouldn't have had the chance to live the same quality of life he does now. But he didn't make it easy to catch him. He played game of hide-and-seek for a couple hours, where he would meow and then wait until I got close to him, and then run away to another bush, but not too far. He is a black cat and as the sun set, all I could see were his eyes. They were so big for his little body and that's how I could keep finding him.
He hasn't changed at all because his personality is still playful and fun, he is just a lot bigger now, but still has his big eyes too. The only thing that changed is now he doesn't play hide and seek because he doesn't like to leave my side ever. He loves to snuggle and never misses a moment to greet me at the door.

But when I came home from work the evening of October 3rd, Easton didn't greet me at the door, and I couldn't find him. So my gut feeling knew something was wrong. I found Easton limping in a corner behind the curtain and not moving much and he felt cold to the touch. I immediately called the emergency vet and they said to bring him in.

This is why I need your help: On the night of October 3rd, the emergency vet told me that Easton is showing the beginning signs of major organ failure that includes his kidneys due to a urinary tract blockage that prevents toxins from leaving the body, causing them to circulate through their organs and leading to death.

I learned that male cats are more likely to experience urinary blockages due to their anatomy that puts them at higher risk. They can happen suddenly without warning. But Easton is only 6 years old and has never experienced a blockage before. He has always been very healthy, so he does have the opportunity to have a long life ahead of him.

That's why I made the decision to go ahead with the surgery. I want to give my rescue kitty another chance.
