My puppy means everything to me, and right now she’s fighting to recover after suffering a serious head injury. It has been one of the scariest experiences of my life. She was rushed to the emergency vet with severe swelling in her head and doctors believe she may have a skull fracture. She had to be hospitalized, placed in an oxygen cage, and monitored closely. She wasn’t eating on her own, so they had to feed her through a tube while they continued running tests and treating the swelling.

The good news is that she’s been showing signs of improvement. Her pupils are responding, she can move her legs, and the swelling in her head has started to go down. Every little improvement gives me hope, but she still has a long road ahead of her and needs continued medical care, medications, testing, and follow-up visits. This has all happened so suddenly, and the veterinary bills are becoming more than I can handle on my own. I’m doing everything I can for my baby because she’s not just a dog—she’s family. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love her.
