Help our pup Holly recover from a Rattlesnake bite
Donation protected
Yesterday evening our 1 year old puppy, Holly, was bit by a rattlesnake in our backyard. She began swelling in her face, where she was bit, and became very weak and drowsy. We took her to the nearest animal hospital, where we waited for two hours and were not prioritized to be seen. Finally we decided to seek help elsewhere, and went to Animal Urgent Care of Escondido, where she is currently being treated.
The venom presence combined with Holly's blood's inability to coagulate made her condition critical. Thankfully, she was administered two doses of antivenin (anti-venom) over the course of the night, which has helped her improve and stabilize. We are hopeful that given the proper continued care she will pull through.
Unfortunately, this process has put an unexpected financial burden on our family. Each vial of antvenin alone is $600 - she is expected to need 3 at the very least. Combined with the animal hospital stay and care, we are looking at this whole whole ordeal amounting to $3000 at minimum - an amount we had not anticipated or budgeted for.
Holly is our angel, she is so sweet and loving. We want to do everything in our power to save her from this painful and horrible accident that she is enduring. If you can support financially, please consider doing so - any amount helps. If not, please share this campaign. We are so grateful for any contributions and for your compassion during this stressful and scary turn of events. Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
