Help my Pug Shadow Recover from a Severe Attack

Hi everyone,

I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help, but my heart is completely shattered right now. My beloved pug Shadow was brutally attacked by another dog on January 25th. Shadow was in our backyard, doing what he loves most (laying in the grass and soaking up the sun) when out of nowhere, a dog forced its way into our yard and attacked him. My little sister heard the barking and ran outside, only to see Shadow being attacked. When she screamed the dog lunged at her, forcing her to run while it chased her. We had to fight the dog off with a broom and rush Shadow inside.

I rushed him to an emergency vet, where they told me he needed surgery and drains. I agreed without hesitation, But just two days later Shadow started smelling bad and I had to take him back to the vet. They informed me that his wounds were getting infected and that some of his skin was dying due to the severity of the injuries. I took him back again and again (6 times) On February 4th, his skin began opening up, exposing the tissue underneath I took him back to the vet , i was told that the damaged skin would fall off entirely leaving a massive open wound and that he now needs another surgery to remove the dead skin and begin his recovery process. I have an appointment scheduled for February 5th at a specialized clinic, but I’m overwhelmed by the costs.

At this point, I’ve already spent $3,950, and I can’t afford the next surgery and continued treatment. I would do absolutely anything to save him, but I’m running out of options. Shadow isn’t just a pet—he’s my baby, my best friend, my family. Shadow has been with me since he was just 3 months old—he’s now 8 years old and still the happiest, most loving dog. I want to continue his care, but I need help.
