Help My Preemie Twins Get the Surgeries They Need

Hello, my name is Keiarra, and I’m a single mother of two beautiful twins, Eli and Jordan. They came into this world far too soon—born two months early after a terrifying pregnancy where Jordan flatlined multiple times and Eli’s placenta began to fail.
Both of my babies spent over a month in the NICU fighting to grow strong enough to come home. Watching them connected to tubes and monitors was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to endure as a mother, but they fought so hard—my tiny warriors.
Unfortunately, our journey didn’t end once we left the hospital.
Because Jordan was born early, some of the vital muscles in her nose, mouth, and throat didn’t fully develop. This has caused her ongoing difficulties with breathing, gaining weight, and overall thriving. The specialized surgeons she needs are located out of state, which means we’ve had to travel from Anchorage, Alaska to OHSU Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
The team at OHSU has been phenomenal and recently performed a procedure that helped Jordan immensely—but she still needs another surgery in Portland soon.
Eli, my sweet boy, also faces his own medical challenges. His trachea is very narrow, which leads to sudden coughing fits and difficulty breathing, especially at night. His doctors hope to correct this by performing a dilation procedure under anesthesia—something that also requires a pediatric surgeon at OHSU.
While I am incredibly grateful that our medical expenses are covered by insurance, the travel costs—flights, lodging, meals, and transportation—are not. Between caring for two medically fragile children, taking time off work, and covering these repeated travel costs, the financial strain has become overwhelming.
It truly pains me to ask for help, but as a mother, I will do anything to make sure my babies get the care they need to live healthy, happy lives. If you are able to donate, share, or even just offer a prayer for us, please know that it means the world to me and my family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading our story, for sharing, and for supporting Eli and Jordan on their healing journey.
With love and gratitude,
Keiarra
