Please help Shadow fight cancer

We were asking everyone to call Cornell directly, but I received a phone call this morning from Wendy, the client service manager at Cornell, and was told they had some people calling to donate to Shadow's account, but they do not accept donations for one specific pet,the donations they accept are for the university. So, we were given incorrect information at our consultation appointment. She suggested making a new GoFundMe. I know with all the scams out there, people don’t want to help because they think the money is not going to where they are being told, but I am being completely honest - I am not a liar or a thief, and the money will be going for my baby girl's cancer treatments. I am going to give updates on everything we are told, along with paperwork and receipts.I’m extremely desperate. I want to start by telling you about our beautiful dog, Shadow. She is a Labrador retriever and is almost 12 years old. We rescued Shadow when she was four months old; she was being used as a bait dog. After we rescued her, she turned out to be an amazing, loving dog; she is the sweetest. Shadow underwent surgery on February 19th to remove two masses, one located on the top of her head and the other on her upper eyelid. During the procedure, the doctor discovered a third mass in her mouth, which prompted him to express concern regarding its color and appearance. He recommended its removal, and we agreed to have it removed. The doctor suggested sending the masses for testing, and the results revealed that the mass in her mouth was melanoma, while the other two masses were benign. Fortunately, it was detected in time. The vet referred us to Cornell; our vet stated that if it were his dog, he would seek consultation with them. They will perform a CT scan to ensure the cancer has not spread to her lungs or lymph nodes. Given Shadow's overall good health, the doctor believes that with treatment, her life can be prolonged for five to six years or longer. We are deeply attached to Shadow, who serves as my husband's and my emotional support dog and is essentially our baby. We are deeply heartbroken. Animals may be perceived as just pets to some, but to us, Shadow is our daughter and baby. Over the years, we have spent a lot of money on doctor bills for our animals, our babies. My husband and I both suffer from complex PTSD, and having her has drastically changed our lives forever. She has turned out to be the perfect emotional support dog that knows exactly how to help us cope with our problems. We now have to take her to Cornell on April 2 for a full-body CT scan to determine if it has spread anywhere else. We had a consultation with the oncologist at Cornell on March 26, 2026, and he believes, based on the biopsy results, that this was found early enough that they can treat it and/or do surgery if needed. We unfortunately cannot afford these huge vet bills that will be coming with her treatments. I am the only one working, as my husband is fully disabled and cannot work. We are looking for a little help to try and help our baby girl and give her the best chance at beating this cancer. She has done so much for us that she deserves the best chance to beat this. She is in excellent health right now, and they said she is an excellent candidate to beat this and could live another five or six years or longer. So, we are asking that anyone who could donate to help us get the care that our baby girl needs, we would greatly appreciate it. If there is money left over from Shadow's treatment, we will donate that money to Cornell Animal Hospital for the university to help other animals in need; that is a promise. Thank you so much for your support and thank you in advance; it means more than anyone will ever know. Even if you cannot donate, please, I am begging, just share this GoFundMe.
