Help My People in Gaza Survive
Donation protected
It is hard for me to write about the worst experience my people have had and I never expected that we had reached this stage in life. You won’t imagine how hard it is to talk about what is going on in Gaza and about the dire reality of the people of Gaza.
I turned to GoFundMe as a way of helping as many Gazans as possible to get food, clothes, and basic supplies.
My name is Sara Mahdi, a 26-year-old resident of the Gaza Strip, and I was working as an Arabic language teacher for non-native Arabic speakers before the beginning of this harsh war. My husband also had an IT company but because of what happened in the Gaza Strip, we lost everything. We had to leave Gaza 10 days ago because of the abnormal conditions.
Especially as I'm about to give birth to my first child and there's no way to find any health care in our hospitals. I used to help people in any way that was available to me, but during this war I had nothing left to help people who are in need other than trying to raise money for them.
my family are still in Gaza, and they encouraged me to help the largest number of Gazans because of the lack of food, drink and basic needs.
The humanitarian aids that reaches to Gaza Strip is too little and insufficient for the needs of the large number of Gaza's inhabitants.
The people of Gaza Strip live in tents because of the reality that has been imposed on us all. Many of them have died from severe cold because of the lack of sufficient coverings that protect them from some cold and some of them have died from extreme hunger because of the lack of sufficient money to buy essential items.
And available products have become very expensive due to the lack of such products , where prices are twice as high as their real prices, especially in the northern Gaza Strip.
Because of the prolonged period of war and the high cost, many people carried out all their money during this genocide. It must also be highlighted that large group of Gazans relied on daily work for their livelihoods.
Displacement from north to south:
When people of Gaza were displaced from the north to the south, most of them left everything they had and did not expect that the time period of war would be long and would extend. They thought it would be days and would return to their homes and property.
They took nothing with them and the weather at that time was rather hot and it didn't even come to mind to bring clothes or coverings that would protect them from the winter chill. It wasn't in mind that winter came and war continued, but it was destined for this war to continue and take with it so many lives dreams, people, relatives and friends.
Stay in the North:
This is another story of suffering that people of the North have witnessed much harsher than those of the South since the beginning of the war. The smell of death everywhere and the smell of decomposed bodies was the dominant smell of the Nordic atmosphere.
Very briefly:
Fear, poverty, hunger, displacement and denial of the most basic rights have been the case in northern Gaza since the beginning of the war.
Hospitals and lack of health care:
What l I wrote in advance may be a fraction of the suffering my people are experiencing every moment . I tried to shorten it as much as possible, but what I will write now is an experience I have experienced personally and I have felt its pain all over my body.
What happened in the Gaza Strip's hospitals cannot be described as words actually do not describe the magnitude of the pain experienced by patients, the elderly, newborns, pregnant women and others.
My pregnancy experience during the war was very cruel.
The food was not healthy and nutritious, nor was it enough, nor was the water healthy, nor was the way I slept, so I did what I could to get out of the Gaza Strip, especially when my delivery approached and I would not give birth in a natural way, but by caesarean section.
Because I did IVF, I was helped by honest and kind friends who I could never forget their financial and moral supports.
I survived by these people who helped and I now feel like it's my turn to help in whatever way I can help, I hope my words have an impact on you and are a reason to help those in need.
I decided to write the story of suffering before My due date . I will give birth in a week and I just need your prayers.
By some trusted people, the funds will be distributed to people in need, especially in the north of Gaza. We will not send through any companies or organizations, who take a percentage of funds.
