Help My Parents with Medical Bills & Home Repairs

Hi all, I am reaching out to you on behalf of my amazing parents, who would never ask for help themselves. My dad was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and is currently undergoing intense treatment for this. He has been out of work since November 2021 and will be out for at least another 6 months while he recovers from his treatment and prepares for an esophogectamy at Sloan Kettering. As his medical expenses are piling up, my parents experienced a terrible, untimely, two-floor leak in their home. After a battle with the insurance company, the insurance company denied their entire claim on the grounds that the damage was “normal wear and tear” and not “storm damage”. The leak had apparently been behind the wall for years unbeknownst to them, causing serious damage to the structure of the house. They recently had the water damage repaired, any mold removed and planned on having the roof/interior fixed up this week. Unfortunately the estimate they received was severely understated as the contractors “did not realize the severity of the damage”. While my dad is recovering from treatment, my parents are now living with a partial roof, and partially insulated home, as the deconstruction had begun. The construction company can not proceed with rebuilding until $60,000 is paid to rebuild the structural integrity of their home (not previously estimated for). The estimate was originally for a couple of thousand dollars. I am asking for any sort of help or prayers you can manage during this extremely difficult time. My sisters and I have been helping as much as we can over these past few months, but there is only so much three 20-something year olds can do. I know money and means are tight for many people right now, so I was also considering setting up a meal train for my parents, and I will keep you posted on that.
